Origin: New South Wales, Australia.

Growth:  Amazing and rare. Evergreen. Leaves are flat and arranged in a spiral. Bark is dark green and nobbly. Can sprout multiple trunks.

Sun: Sun/Partial shade.

Exposure: Exposed/sheltered.

Soil:  Acidic. Requires good drainage.

Moisture: Water regularly when new shoots appear from may-June then re-water only when soil is almost dry. Do not over-water.

    Wollemi Pine. These are exceptional quality and RARE.

    The Wollemi Pine is an amazing plant and is one of the world’s oldest and rarest. Classed as a ‘Living Fossil’ it dates back to the time of the dinosaurs.

    Only discovered growing in 1994 in New South Wales in Australia the oldest fossil of the Wollemi has been dated to 200 million years ago. Conservation wise, it is rated as Critically endangered.

    The Wollemi is a majestic and very attractive conifer with unusual dark green foliage arranged in a spiral formation. It,s bark is distinctive and is dark brown and knobbly. It can also sprout multiple trunks.

    An ultimate survivor it can adapt to a diverse range of climates, is not easily damaged in high winds and trials have indicated it will survive temperatures down to -12 degrees.

    Attractive and striking in appearance, it can make a spectacular specimen tree.

    Easy to grow, but prefers well drained soils.
