    Wodyetia Bifurcata. Foxtail Palm.
The Wodyetia Bifurcata is a really spectacular palm. When mature it has a crown of 8-10 long elegantly arching leaves which are densely plumose. Many fish tail shaped leaflets are arranged in a circular formation around the rachis, giving the impression of a foxtail hence it’s common name. A solitary palm, its grey coloured trunk is smooth and slender with a slightly swollen base. Branched flower stalks of both male and female white flowers are followed by colourful clusters of oval shaped fruit, orange-red in colour containing a single seed. No spines are present. This attractive looking palm is great for growing in planters, perfect for greenhouses and bright conservatories or patios through summer. Frost tender it is better brought inside through winter.
