Serenoa Repens Silver. Silver Saw Palmetto.
The Serenoa Repens silver is a highly desirable and attractive shrubby palm.  Stiff fan shaped leaves are silvery in colour and made up of around 18-20 leaflets.

The Saw Palmetto silver is typically a multi-trunk clustering palm with a trunk which grows along the ground (decumbent) although it can ocassionally develop an erect or arching trunk. Be mindful where to plant as the petioles are armed with spines, but looks great planted beneath other taller palms and plants. Very slow growing but cold hardy to around -10 it also copes well with arid and salty conditions when established.
This is an amazingly beautiful palm and a great addition to any tropical garden which will add plenty of drama. Can be grown in containers too. Quite rare this is one for the collectors.
