Puya Venusta. Bromeliad. The Puya Venusta is an amazing plant and rarely available. Rosettes of narrow, rigid tapering leaves are silvery-grey in colour with inward pointing teeth along their margins. In spring, when mature enough, stunning royal purple to blue-violet flowers appear from large red pine-cone like rounded clusters, held above the rosettes on an upright red flower stalk. This very exotic plant will eventually form offsets and reach a height of around 1.5m. Definitely one for the collectors this unique plant is great for large containers, coastal gardens, exotic gardens and city gardens alike, it’s striking silhouette making it a wonderful architectural addition.
Will need protection in severe winters.
