    Puya Assurgens. Bromeliad.
The Puya Assurgens is an amazing plant and rarely available.  A compact rosette of very long narrow, elegantly arching leaves are green with a silvery-blue colour on the undersides. Lightly spined along their margins which they tend to loose as they mature. In spring, when mature enough, striking bright coral coloured tubular flowers with blueish-green throats are held above the rosettes on an upright branched flower stalk that are a coral pink colour. This very exotic plant will eventually form offsets and reach a height of around 1m. Definately one for the collectors this unique plant is great for large containers, coastal gardens, exotic gardens and city gardens alike, it’s striking silhouette making it a wonderful architectural addition.

Will take a few degrees of frost but will need protection in severe winters.
