    Origin: Central Mexico.

    Hardiness: Frost tender.

    Growth Characteristics:  Columnar Cactus. Grows up to 5m in habitat. Curved branches, grey-green in colour with 9-12 acute ribs. Smallish spines, 6-7 radials up to 5cm and one longer central  line the ribs in areoles spaced between 1-1.5cm apart. Small flowers, yellowish/green or pinkish white in colour. Edible fruits. Easy to grow. Slow growing.

    Sun: Full sun.

    Exposure: Sheltered.

    Soil: Well drained soil. Gritty.

    Moisture: Water more in summer and during growing period. Allow to dry between waterings. Do not allow to sit in water. Keep dry in winter.

    Polaskia Chichipe Cactus. Single and Multi-trunk.
    The Polaskia Chichipe Cactus is a columnar tree-like variety of cacti. Usually with a short trunk which branches freely at the top as it matures. Greenish grey curved stems each having 9-12 acute wavy ribs. Areoles are spaced between 1-1.5cm apart, each containing 6-7 radial spines up to 5cm long with one longer central spine, greyish in colour.

    Small flowers can be either yellowish-green or pinkish-white in colour and occur during the day as well as night time and are followed by edible fruits 2-3cm in size
