    PHYLLOSTACHYS AUREA. Golden Bamboo.

Phyllostachys Aurea or Golden Bamboo is a very graceful and attractive bamboo. Hardy down to -15 degrees it’s tall, strong, dark green canes which mature to become a golden colour and lush foliage are great for providing both a visual and a sound barrier in the shape of a hedge as they are quite wind tolerant. Alternatively they look great as a single specimen plant.

A great ornamental plant it can often have distorted internodes at the cane base, sometimes referred to as “Tortoise shell” internodes.
