      Neobuxbaumia Polylopha Cacti. Cone Cactus.

The Neobuxbaumia Polylopha Cactus is a very tall columnar variety of cacti. Thick pole-like green stems have numerous closely spaced narrow ribs, with 4-8 golden coloured spines arranged in a radial manner. Bristle-like they are between 1-2cm in length. This cacti often remains solitary but may form a candelabra-like tree with age and size. In their natural habitat they primarily grow in limestone canyon walls, but they are becoming rare, being found in less than 10 locations due to development. Flowers are bell shaped and are a dark red in colour which is unusual as columnar cacti usually have white.
