FIG TREES. ‘Panachee’

The Ficus Carica ‘Panachee’ is an ancient and compact variety of fig tree which is self fertile. Also known as ‘Striped Tiger’  because of their unusual creamy yellow and green striped fruit. Following insignificant green  flowers in late Spring the figs are ready for harvest in early Autumn containing delicious and sweet strawberry flavoured red flesh.
Perfect as an ornamental too, the tree itself is very attractive with smooth bark which can also be striped in places too and large glossy green palmate leaves usually having 5 distinct lobes and visible white veins. Mid to dark green in colour they are quite aromatic.

Fig trees instantly bring a piece of the Mediterranean to your garden. Grown in a sunny, sheltered position they will produce bountiful crops of delicious sweet fruits even in the UK.
Caring for your Fig Tree is easy, remember they are a fruit tree so they will need feeding. Feed with tomato feed every 2-3 weeks from when the figs first appear, through the growing season until they start to ripen.

Great for growing in containers, as restricting root growth encourages fruiting.
