Origin: Mexico. Guatemala.

Hardiness: Better kept above 5 degrees.

Growth Characteristics: Hanging cactus. Evergreen.Long and smooth flat semi erect branches becoming pendent. Very showy nocturnal white fragrant flowers stay open for a few days. Oval shaped fruit. Epiphytic plants. Require little maintenance.

Sun: Partial sun.

Exposure: Indoor Houseplant. Can be moved into filtered light (not direct sunshine) outside in summer.

Soil: Well drained soil.

Moisture: Water during growing season. Allow to dry between waterings. When top 0.5 inch of soil is dry then water. Needs a little more water than regular cacti. Can mist the leaves occasionally to provide a little humidity.

The Epiphyllum Pumillum Cactus has long succulent branching flat, smooth stems which are semi erect to start with and then cascade down over the pot. Older stems are dark green and the new foliage is a brighter colour.

Very showy nocturnal fragrant flowers with pure white inner petals and salmon-maroon coloured outer ones are small to medium sized. These are followed by oval shaped fruits.

Very on trend and perfect for providing a dramatic accent to your house or office.

These types of cacti are Epiphytic, meaning in habitat they grow in trees or on rocks, getting their nutrients from the air or dead leaves and other debris collected in the cracks or crevasses.
