    Dypsis Pembana. Pembana Palm

The Dypsis Pembana is a rare collectors palm from the Islands of Pemba off the coast of Africa. This very attractive palm tree has a crown of long gracefully arching deep green leaves with short petioles. The leaflets are close and evenly spaced growing from the rachis at a steep angle producing a ‘V’ shape in cross section. A clustering palm, (occasionally solitary) the straight trunks are light brown or grey in colour and are widely ringed with leaf base scars.

Classed as vunerable in the wild, this ornamental palm is hard to come by and quite sought after.
