In habitat mature specimens can grow up to 5m tall with 8-10 large beautifully re-curving feather leaves comprising of thick ,widely spaced shiny leaflets making up the perfectly round crown. The solitary trunk is grey to greenish grey with widely spaced light coloured rings. The crownshaft bulges at its base and is a deep emerald green.
