    Carpoxylon Macrospermum. Carpoxylon Palm

The Carpoxylon Macrospermum is exceedingly rare and critically endangered in its native habitat. Thought to be extinct it was only rediscovered in 1987. A very tall palm with a solitary trunk, deep green in colour with a swollen base. Topping a long, bright green crownshaft is a crown of strongly recurved olive green leathery leaves strongly ‘V’ shaped in cross section, with stiff pinnate leaflets.

A highly ornamental palm suited for growing in a greenhouse, conservatory or atrium with some humidity. Really difficult to come by, it makes a great specimen, perfect for the collectors.
