    Alluaudia Procera. Madagascan Ocotillo.
The Alluaudia Procera is a very unusual succulent tree. Scarcely branched the stems are straight and cylindrical, whitish-grey in colour and covered in grey spines, although on mature plants the lower parts can be spineless. Rounded succulent leaves are around 2.5cm long and occur in pairs. In winter the plant is leafless. Clusters of yellow or whitish-green flowers develop at the ends of the branches but they rarely flower
