The Pachira Aquatica is grown in the UK as a very ornamental and impressive houseplant. Interwoven stems form a decorative trunk which has a crown of large shiny green palmate leaves composed of 6-9 leaflets. Flowers have long narrow petals which open to reveal hair-like orange stamens. Large woody pods are formed containing edible nuts which taste like peanuts.
Easy to care for, these attractive trees bring a piece of the jungle indoors. Can also be grown on a sheltered patio during summer months
